It was stated by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) that SNAP benefits will go up again in the 48 contiguous states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Alaska.
Because it costs more to live in those last three places, they get much bigger payments. The only state that will get less money from SNAP is Hawaii, which will not get a raise in the COLA. When does the new COLA start to work, though?
Maximum SNAP amounts after the 2025 COLA
Individuals who receive Food Stamps will begin receiving the extra money every month on October 1. If you are eligible for any of the October 1 paychecks, check your EBT tomorrow to see how much more you are getting in the 48 contiguous states and D.C.
The rise is pretty small, though, so SNAP recipients might not notice a big change between their September and October payments. It’s still better than the cut in Hawaii, though.
SNAP payment schedule for October
If you live in a different U.S. state or region, you may get your SNAP payment on a different income. Some states, like Florida and Texas, will send all the payments on October 1. Other states, like New York, however, may take up to 28 days.
