Why some retirees on Social Security and SSI will receive 3 checks in November?
It’s true that people who are eligible for SSI and Social Security retirement benefits will start getting their monthly checks on November 1. People who get SSI usually get paid on November 1.
That being said, this is not a normal payment for Social Security retirement income. The Administration had to move this payment to November 1 as well because November 3 is a Sunday.
People who are retired and getting both SSI and Social Security will get two checks on the same day. Also, the SSI check for December can’t be sent on December 1, 2024, a Sunday. That’s why the December SSI check will be sent early.
When has Social Security scheduled the SSI payment for December?
Social Security said that the December 1 Supplemental Security Income check will be sent out on November 29. That’s why this is the third payment in November for seniors who get both retirement and SSI.
Aside from disability benefits and Supplemental Security Income, you will also get three checks in November if you get either of these benefits. On November 29, you will also get your advance SSI payment for December.
Anyway, since this isn’t a bonus or extra payment, you’ll need to wait until December to make the payment for November 29. In terms of normal amounts, retirees can get around $1,920. People who get SSI may also get a lot less than usual. In general, SSI checks can be around $698.
