ROCKINGHAM — Public records at the Richmond County Clerk of Superior Court’s office are presently inaccessible, but they are expected to be available online next week.
Richmond County and other nearby areas are currently transitioning to the eCourts system, set to launch on Monday, Oct. 14, as stated on the N.C. Judicial Branch website.
“Digital records are alleviating pressures on constrained facility space, minimizing courthouse foot traffic at security checkpoints and customer counters, and revolutionizing public access to essential court records for the future of North Carolina,” states a press release issued by the court system on Aug. 5.
On the same day, Anson, Cabarrus, Cumberland, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Scotland, Stanly, and Union counties will also be launching.
The eCourts portal allows users to access court records and case information, search for court dates and hearings, explore the judgement index, and make payments.
Residents will have the opportunity to submit paperwork in specific types of cases. For additional details, please visit nccourts.gov/ecourts.
