A lot of retired people got money today from the Social Security Administration. But not everyone who gets retiring benefits is eligible for the same pay cheque.
In this case, if you started getting monthly payouts from Social Security before May 1997, you can get a cheque or direct deposit on October 3. On the other hand, the Agency could give you money if you get both Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and retirement.
Next Social Security payment in October for retirees
In fact, there are still 3 rounds of Wednesday payments left in October. It’s clear that you can only get one of them. You can’t get money on any of these payments except the October 3 payment.
In other words, you started getting Social Security after April 30, 1997, and you are also not getting Supplemental Security Income. In fact, what makes you unique is that you were born on a certain date.
If you are a senior whose birthday is between October 9 and October 10, SSA says you will only get the payment. If your birthday is after that date, you will have two more options.
Social Security checks after October 9
Your retirement payment will be sent to you on October 16 if your birthday is between October 11 and October 20. It doesn’t matter what month it is. That means it’s due on October 3rd.
There will be no Social Security payment on October 4th. That is the last Wednesday of the month. As you might have guessed, you also need to be born on the right day to get it.
People who were born between July 21 and July 31 will get their monthly payment on October 23. If you got paid on October 3, you won’t get another cheque or direct deposit on November 3. That’s right, Social Security says it will be sent early on November 1.
