The Internet is appalled by this woman's outrage that she can't get a refund for her mountain vacation during NC's catastrophic flooding

Got more important things to do than take a trip, woman. The pictures and films coming out of North Carolina are terrible, as I’m sure you’ve already seen. Hurricane Helene caused terrible rains that destroyed whole towns and left hundreds of people missing.

Over 100 people have already died, and that number is expected to go up even more as the water recedes and rescuers can move into the areas that were hit hard. Up to 600 people are still missing and have not been found. Many interstates have collapsed, leaving thousands of people stuck in their flooded homes.

Helicopters and even mules are being used by aid workers to get goods to people who need them. One woman is VERY worried about getting her vacation money back. The woman, who lives in North Carolina, goes on a long rant on TikTok about how she had to cancel her “mountain vacation” because of the storms and now she can’t get her money back:

People who pay a certain amount of money to go on vacation with family or friends expect to have a break. Not trying to figure out how to get past gates. Do not worry about what will be open and what will not be open… I have five days to cancel this ticket, but I will only get some of my money back. After a $2,500 trip for a week with my family of six, can I get some of my money back?”

Lady, they have more important things to do right now than giving you back your holiday money. The whole city is underwater, and many people don’t have cell service or can’t even call to let their families know they’re safe. And you’re using up phone lines to try to get your AirBnB funds back?

Finally, she found out that the property manager told her that they need to talk to the owners first before giving her a refund. No matter what, it seems like a good idea.

It’s possible that the homeowner doesn’t even have cell service right now, and who knows if they even have a home. But this woman doesn’t seem motivated to wait. There are times when you think she might show some concern and patience for the situation, but she doesn’t:

“Please don’t get me wrong. I fully understand…cancellation rules. Rules for the house. This is what I do for a living. But when something natural happens that no one can control, I expect some kind of help. Some way of talking to someone. In some way, I understand.”

Not believable. It is truly amazing how selfless they are to demand “some sort of understanding” while showing no regret or understanding for the thousands of people who are suffering right now. As expected, the internet is giving her what she wants:

“I am sorry for your problems. Calling my family for hours to see if their house is still standing and if they are still living makes me understand how frustrating it must be for you. “Well, how about we be patient with them? It’s gross that you act like you deserve something.

“People are killing each other because they’re afraid of food!” Getting in touch? Really! They don’t have a phone, internet, cars, or anything else!!! Really, fuck your trip!! “There is war going on!” “People died. EVERYTHING was lost. “I don’t care about your trip.” “Respectfully…..your cancelled vacation is the least of anyone in western NC concern.”

After her first video “struck a few nerves,” the woman posted a follow-up video. This time, she didn’t say sorry for feeling entitled during a natural disaster; instead, she protected herself and criticized the company again for not giving her the refund right away.

And when that one didn’t do well either, she posted another video making fun of the angry people:

I guess you can’t teach being kind. When thousands of other people are still in pain, it’s hard to believe that people can still be so self-centered.
