Sources say that Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was hospitalized and treated for burns

An event at a campaign event in Mt. Airy on Friday night sent North Carolina Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson to the hospital, according to a person close to the campaign.

A campaign worker said Robinson is getting better after getting burned and is happy.

Last Friday, he was going to be at the Mayberry Truck Show & Parade. On Saturday, he has more campaign stops planned.

On Friday night, no news about his health had been made public.

The Republican candidate for governor has recently been getting a lot of attention after a report said he said racist and sexual things on an internet message board.

Twelve of his employees have quit since the news got out.

No new information has been made public.
