Lottery officials say that two second-prize tickets, one worth $1 million, were sold at the BP on Route 1 south in Edison, even though no one across the country won Friday’s $47 million jackpot. The Californian bought the other ticket that matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
The numbers that won on Friday were 20, 21, 40, 49, and 55. The Mega Ball that was picked was 11, and it had a 3X Megaplier.
There are Mega Millions drawings every Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, as well as in Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
There are 302,575,350 to 1 odds that a $2 ticket will win the Mega Millions prize if it matches five numbers and the Mega Ball. One in 12,607,306 tickets will match five numbers but not the Mega Ball, giving the winner at least $1 million. It’s 931,001 to 1 that you’ll match all four numbers plus the Mega Ball and win at least $10,000.
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday is expected to be worth $223 million, and there is a cash choice worth $112.2 million.
