The Food and Nutrition Service of the USDA told people in California about the new payment amounts and dates. From October 1, 2024, CalFresh (SNAP) payments will begin to arrive, along with a small COLA rise.
This small gain in CalFresh may not seem like much, but it is a lot better than the cut that SNAP recipients in Hawaii got. The new highest amounts will go up by one dollar for each person and by up to five dollars for families of eight.
CalFresh payment schedule for SNAP recipients in California
SNAP payments are sent to EBT cards from the first to the tenth of the month, which is good news. In October, you’ll have to wait up to 10 days to get your money.
In October, benefits will be distributed based on the last digit of your case number:
- Case numbers ending in 1 will receive benefits on the 1st.
- Case numbers ending in 2 will receive benefits on the 2nd.
- Case numbers ending in 3 will receive benefits on the 3rd.
- Case numbers ending in 4 will receive benefits on the 4th.
- Case numbers ending in 5 will receive benefits on the 5th.
- Case numbers ending in 6 will receive benefits on the 6th.
- Case numbers ending in 7 will receive benefits on the 7th.
- Case numbers ending in 8 will receive benefits on the 8th.
- Case numbers ending in 9 will receive benefits on the 9th.
- Case numbers ending in 0 will receive benefits on the 10th.
How much money can CalFresh (SNAP) give Californians in October?
There will be no more than $291 in prizes for you. Now there are 262. That means the price is going up by only one dollar, or twelve dollars more each year. The most a family of four can get is $975.
That’s a very small rise if you have four people living with you. Up from $1,751, a family of eight can now get up to $1,756. See below for a list of all the California maximum amounts.
