People in Allegheny County are helping a family get justice for the death of their son.

He was 23 years old. In North Carolina over the summer, Nathaniel Brown was shot and killed.

He was from White Oak and worked as a crabber in North Carolina.

Thomas and Shawna Brown, his parents, live in White Oak and will be traveling to see the guy charged with Nathaniel’s death in court.

Chastity King-Troyan, Shawna’s friend, set up a fundraiser on Saturday to help pay for the Brown family’s trip and Nathaniel’s funeral.

King-Troyan said, “She’s a good person who would do anything for anyone. When this happened, I just wanted to do something to help her and her family.”

Someone has set up a GoFundMe page for the Browns.
