Schools in Eastern North Carolina are more secure in light of the trend of the national threat list

Schools all over eastern North Carolina are being extra careful because of threats to their safety.

A TikTok video has more than 100 pages of school names from all over the country. It says to check the list to see if your school is on it.

Threats have been made against schools in Pitt County, Carteret County, and other nearby counties. As a result, there are more cops around and kids are getting out of school early.

This is a nationwide trend that Pitt County Sheriff Paula Dance says she takes very seriously.

Many times, it turns out to be a nothing burger. But we want to be sure that it is a nothing burger, not just guess that it is, so our office is very cautious.

Sheriff Dance says that many people have been busy trying to find information, do investigations, and figure out who is guilty.

The Sheriff’s Office has looked into six different threats at schools across the county so far in September.

Our kids are very important to us in our community, and they deserve these investigations, no matter how long they take or if there’s anything to them. Their safety needs these kinds of investigations.

John says he often talks to his kids about how school safety is important.

Sheriff Dance says something very important at this time.

Start talking to your kids about it and see if they have any worries. Parents should also talk to their kids about it and see if they have any worries about school.
