News from the NC Education Lottery says that Kevin Linkous of Sanford bought a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won the $161,582 prize.
Linkous got his lucky Quick Pick ticket online on September 3. Every number on his ticket was correct, so he won the jackpot.
It’s 1 in 962,598 likely that all five balls will come up with the same number.
In Raleigh on Friday, he got his prize at the lottery’s main office. He took home $115,531 after federal and state taxes were taken out.
In North Carolina, players can buy tickets for Cash 5 at a store, online through the lottery’s website, or on their phones with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
