SUMMARY:  Noah Beren is a meteorologist who writes about warm weather events near North Carolina. Off the coast, a new storm is being watched, but it won’t hurt Florida.

There is a 30% chance that a tropical depression or storm will form early next week. It might hit North Carolina or New Jersey, but not Florida. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression 7 is going to turn into Gordon.

It could become a storm, but it’s more likely to move out to sea and not affect the U.S. Three hurricanes have hit land this season. Francine was the first to hit the mainland U.S.
