Direct transfers from SSDI are on the way, and some people will get their monthly payment within hours. The Social Security Administration has confirmed that checks will be sent out in September and October.
In fact, the next SSDI payment from the Social Security Administration will be sent on September 11. That being said, only one group of people can get this money from SSA.
SSDI payment on September 11 and eligibility requirements
Bear in mind that the September 11 SSDI direct deposit or check will only be for beneficiaries who:
- did not start receiving Social Security Disability Insurance before May 1997
- so, they collected benefits after April 30, 1997
- do not qualify for Supplemental Security Income
- were born from the 1st to the 10th, regardless of the month
Therefore, if you are receiving Supplemental Security Income, you are not eligible for the next Disability Insurance check or direct deposit. Those whose birthday is after the 10th will also have to wait.
SSDI payments after September 11, 2024
It will be September 18 for people whose birthday is between September 11 and September 20. They will have to wait an extra week and a half.
The next payment you could get is on September 25 if you don’t qualify for the September 11 or 18 payment. As long as your birthday is between January 21 and December 31. This is the last payment for September.
People who get SSDI will be able to get their first direct deposit or check for October payments on October 3. The people who get this payment are those who get Supplemental Security Income or who started getting Disability Insurance from Social Security before May 1997.
