Payments for Supplemental Security Income are usually made on the first of every month. In October 2024, the SSI payment will be late because it was due on August 30, 2023. This wasn’t the case in September.
How much you pay will depend on your age, how much money you have, and other things. You must be blind, have a handicap, or be at least 65 years old to get SSI.
Who will receive $574 on average from SSI on October 1, 2024?
For people aged 65 and up, this normal SSI check will be for them. Many seniors 65 and older depend on their Social Security retirement payments, even though the most they can get is $943.
That’s why they might not get their whole SSI check or direct payment. If you are 65 or older and get $574, you are in the age group that gets the least.

The average Supplemental Security Income grant will be the biggest for people under 18 years old. This sum may also be given to children, who get an average of $805. There is one more group that gets more money than recipients aged 65 and up, though.
People ages 18 to 64 who get SSI may get about $742. People who meet the other standards, have little or no resources, and a low income should apply for Supplemental Security Income right away. A lot of Americans aren’t getting their monthly payments.
