A woman from Newport named Cathy Noe tried her luck at Cash 5 and won a $346,088 prize. It was her second win at the game.
She had won $100,000 in the Cash 5 Bonus Cash contest in November.
Noe got her $1 ticket at Newport’s C Co Mini Mart on U.S. 70. In the drawing on August 29, her ticket matched all five numbers, making her the winner of the prize. It’s 1 in 962,598 likely that all five balls will come up with the same number.
Friday in Raleigh, Noe got her prize at the lottery’s main office. She took home $247,456 after federal and state taxes were taken out.
In North Carolina, players can buy tickets for Cash 5 at a store, online through the lottery’s website, or on their phones with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The prize for Friday is $120,000.
