The 16-year-old boy who is accused of shooting the Salisbury store owner in August has been named by police.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday that Jhack Aaron Pless was charged with first-degree murder and robbery. He will be tried as an adult.
Someone shot at the Tobacco House store on Airport Road, and Pless was taken in connection with it. The shooting took place on August 13.
People in the area told Channel 9 that the victim, Mainank Patel, owned the shop.
The 16-year-old offender was trying to rob Patel, according to the sheriff’s office. Someone in the neighborhood saw when the police arrested him.
“When I went outside to my back deck, there he was getting arrested.” “They put him in the front of the pickup truck with his hands tied behind his back,” Davey Jackson said.
Pless is being held at the Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center by people who have put up $850,000 in sure bonds. He will have to wear a GPS tracking device if he gets out on bond.
