People in the United States who have a low income and few or no means may get SSI payments. They may also be getting SSDI or retirement benefits. Also, you must be going through one of these things.
You must be at least 65 years old, have a disability, or be blind in order to get SSI payments. Any of these three conditions must be met, along with having little to no cash on hand and little or no income.
SSI’s next payment date
The payment for September was due on August 30, so the next check or direct deposit will be sent in October. So, people who get Supplemental Security Income will get their money in about 23 days.
The next SSI payment will be sent on October 1, which is when the Social Security Administration say it will be sent. The good news is that this is the only payment, so everyone gets their direct deposit at the same time.
Even if SSI recipients get paid twice a month, the second payment is for the next month. Most of the time, it needs to be sent early because the payment is on a holiday or the weekend.
Will the next SSI payment include the 2025 COLA?
It won’t be possible to see the 2025 COLA raise until December 31, but on October 10, the Administration will reveal the new COLA number for Social Security and SSI payments.
So far, it looks like the COLA rise will be less than in the past. The Senior Citizens League said that they thought the COLA would be only 2.57% in 2025. Supplemental Security Income users usually get the least amount of money, so they might not get a lot of extra money after the boost.
