U.S. Titanium Company to Invest $867M in North Carolina

Creating 300 Jobs with a New Manufacturing Facility

The FAyetteville Cumberland Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) is happy to say that Project Aero has picked Cumberland County as the site for its specialized titanium mill. More than 300 jobs will be created, with an average pay of $123,476. The company will also spend more than $867 million on buildings and tools.

The US aerospace industry has a big problem with its manufacturing supply chain: it can’t get military-grade titanium. Project Aero aims to solve this problem. The unique qualities of titanium make it valuable to aerospace manufacturers. Titanium can be mixed with a lot of different metals, like iron, aluminum, and vanadium.

Titanium alloys are valuable to many businesses, including aircraft manufacturers, because they are strong, don’t rust, and can handle high and low temperatures. The company’s project in Fayetteville will build a 500,000-square-foot building and campus that is designed to melt, roll, and polish titanium.

“I’m proud to be in charge of building such an important project because I worked for more than 20 years at U.S. Steel and 13 years at Nucor Corporation, where I built five new steel mills.” The head of Project Aero’s capital projects is LeRoy Prichard.

The City of Fayetteville and Cumberland County passed incentive packages in May to help the project, as long as the company meets certain performance standards.

“We are thrilled that Project Aero has chosen Cumberland County for their new cutting-edge facility, and we can’t wait to have them here,” said Glenn Adams, Chairman of the County.

“When the Board decides which projects to bring to our community, we always think about how they will affect the people who live here and what opportunities they will bring.” We want everyone to know that Cumberland County is open for business. We hope that this will help the economy grow even more.

Mayor Mitch Colvin said, “This project shows how strong we are in the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors. This puts Fayetteville on track for huge growth and more prosperity.” This important investment will make a lot of high-paying jobs possible.

The average salary will be almost twice as high as the national average and much higher than the average income in North Carolina. We’re happy to have this huge project come to Fayetteville, and we look forward to the chances it will open up for us in the future.

Teresa McBride, Chairman of the Board for Project Aero, thanked everyone for their help with the project on behalf of the company.

Gov. Roy Cooper, the State of North Carolina, Cumberland County, The City of Fayetteville, Fayetteville PWC, Dr. Franklin Clark, and Piedmont Natural Gas all helped make this happen.

We appreciate how hard FCEDC President & CEO Robert Van Geons and Executive Vice President Rob Patton have worked to move this project forward. “We’d also like to thank Mayor Mitch Colvin, Chairman Glenn Adams, and PWC CEO Tim Bryant for your leadership and help,” McBride said.

Governor Roy Cooper said, “The aerospace industry has been an important part of modern life since the Wright brothers first flew a powered airplane at Kitty Hawk. It has driven technological progress and made it easier for people to connect with each other.

” This company in Cumberland County makes aerospace parts. North Carolina has a skilled staff, excellent transportation systems, and worker training systems that will help them grow and succeed in our state.
