SSDI Disability: New dates for Social Security direct payments, $1,538 and $3,822 checks

SSDI Disability New dates for Social Security direct payments, $1,538 and $3,822 checks

SSDI is a type of Social Security for American workers with certain disabilities who have had jobs that were covered by the Administration. Because they paid enough in taxes to SSA, they can get payments every month as long as they are disabled.

If you get Social Security every month, you might get your payment on September 3. After this, you can check your bank account to see if the money was sent properly. You will get paid today if you started getting Social Security before May 1997 or if you also get SSI.

New dates for SSDI in the upcoming weeks

On September 11, Social Security Disability Insurance funds will be sent out. The payment for September 18 will be sent on September 3rd. The last payment is due on September 18. See below for eligibility:

  • SSDI on September 11: recipients born from the first to the tenth
  • SSDI on September 18: beneficiaries whose birthday is after the 10th but before the 21st
  • SSDI on September 25: those receiving Disability Insurance and whose birth date is from 21-31

If you haven’t asked for Disability Insurance benefits and Social Security hasn’t said yes, you can’t get any of these payments in the United States.

Will there be new payment amounts for SSDI in September?

Through 2024, the payments will stay the same. Benefits from SSDI won’t go up until January 3, 2025. So, people who get unemployment benefits will keep getting the same amount for the rest of the year.

Most of the time, they can get about $1,538. Some people, though, may get a lot less, and they may need to apply for Supplemental Security Income, which can give you up to $943 a month.

In September, people with disability insurance who earned the taxable maximum (the least amount of money in contributions and benefits over 35 years) and met other important criteria can get up to $3,822. Tell them about any changes at work, in your marriage, or in your earnings that could affect the amount of your payment.
