Stephen “Steph” Curry and the Golden State Warriors have decided to pay him an extra $62.6 million to keep him on the team through the 2026–27 season.
But it looks like Ayesha Curry, the NBA star’s wife, got scared that the family might be leaving the San Francisco Bay Area.
Emme Chang, who is the host of the Bloomberg Originals show “The Circuit,” met the Currys at their Workday Charity Classic golf event last week. Chang posted video on social media of her conversation with Steph, 36, and Ayesha, 35.
In the short video, Chang said that Steph had taken down any posts on Instagram that mentioned the Warriors brand. Ayesha looked at her husband and said, “Wait, what?” She looked very confused.
“Believer” is what Steph’s Instagram bio says right now. Dad. Partner. Founder. Giver of money. A gold medalist in the Olympics. Philippians 4:13 says,
Clutch Points says that “Olympic Gold Medalist” took the place of “Guard for the @Warriors.”
“I was just proud to be an Olympian,” the four-time NBA champion told his wife about the change.
Fans of the Warriors should be happy because @stephencurry30 just signed a new one-year deal. But he told me this week that they were going to stay forever! Chang put a comment on the video. “PS: Steph and @ayeshacurry are going to be on a really fun episode of ‘The Circuit.'”
Different people had different things to say about Steph and Ayesha Curry’s chat with Emily Chang in the comments. In particular, people talked about what they thought about the four-time NBA champion sticking with Golden State.
“That guy had to get up and leave!” “Wasting his last years, smh!” someone said. On the other hand, a fan said, “See, I told you.” Steph Warrior forever, everyone can take it easy, we’ll be back with a rage.
A reviewer said, “Cringe as f–k” about the filmed conversation between Emily Chang and the Currys.
That being said, Chang also got help. “I love your interviews and the way you do them,” one of her supporters said. They’re so delightfully different.
The fifth Workday Charity Classic was held on August 28 at the Stanford University Golf Course and was put on by Steph and Ayesha Curry. The Currys’ Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation will gain from the event in Stanford, California.
“We’re excited to say that the money from this year’s event will help Eat. Learn. Play. reach its goal of helping 10,000 elementary school students do well in reading and develop a love of learning,” the nonprofit said on Instagram.
The statement went on to say, “Plus, Eat. Learn. Play. is committing $25 million over the next five years to give the Oakland students who need it most high-dose, one-on-one tutoring.”
Steph Curry was picked by the Golden State Warriors with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft. Dell and Sonya Curry, his parents, were sure that New York was going to pick him at the time.
“I had no idea where Golden State was.” When they said Golden State, I asked myself, “Where is my child going?” In an interview with Atlanta Black Star in July 2024, Steph Curry’s mother talked about it.
“Lord, are you going to take my child?…” Sonya also said, “Take him all the way to Never Never Land on the West Coast.” Sonya also said that Golden State had “a lot of guards,” which is why they were worried about how much Steph would play.
“But God knows best,” she said. She said, “Look what happened.”
Steph won two Most Valuable Player awards and set a league record for most three-pointers made in a single season during his 15 years in the NBA.
Steph also won a gold medal with the USA Basketball Men’s Olympic Team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The point guard will become the fourth NBA player to earn more than $500 million over the course of their career when he signs his new deal with the Warriors.
