The first SSDI funds for next month will be sent out by the Social Security Administration on Tuesday, September 3. In order to get disability insurance, you need to have a handicap that meets the SSA’s strict criteria.
In order to get Social Security, you also need to have worked for a certain amount of years. In general, you need 10 years of work or 40 work credits to be eligible for SSDI. However, younger workers may be able to get it with fewer credits. People who get over their disability need to report it because they could be overpaid.
SSDI on Tuesday, September 3
On September 3, only two groups of people will get a Social Security Disability Insurance check. One group is people who started getting disability payments before May 1997.
The second group of receivers, on the other hand, must be getting SSI at the same time. That means they will start getting SSI on August 30 and Disability Insurance on September 3. The direct payment on Tuesday will happen on time, and there shouldn’t be any problems.
People on SSDI who don’t get their check on time have to wait up to three mailing days before they can call the SSA. Then, after three mailing days, they can say that a payment is lost or late, but it’s not likely that the payment will be late.

The amount for Social Security Disability Insurance is based on how much you need it. So, your payment will be more if you paid more taxes to SSA. Most checks are around $1,538.
People who worked in jobs covered by SSA for 35 years and made the maximum amount of tax can get up to $3,822 on September 3, 2024. On August 30, some people who get SSI can get an average payment of $695. That means, though, that your SSDI check might be less than usual.
In September, other SSDI payouts will come in 8, 15, or 22 days. The next Disability Insurance payouts from Social Security are set for September 11, 18, and 25.
