Andy Kravchenko, a student at Bolles School, has verbally committed to Stanford.

We are proud to be a host of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all of the news about commitments. For many people, swimming in college has been a dream for a long time and is something they work hard to achieve. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these players and the people who helped them get where they are today.

Andy Kravchenko, from Jacksonville, Florida, has said that he will attend Stanford University in the class of 2029.

“Proud to say that I have decided to swim and study at Stanford University.” Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way. Thanks a lot to my brother Lucas for leading the way. “GO CARD”

Kravchenko is the second member of his family to play in the NCAA. Lucas Kravchenko, his bigger brother, swam for Florida.

Kravchenko won the 50-yard freestyle event at the Florida High School Class 1A State Swimming and Diving Championships as a student last year (19.90). He also swam on all three state title relays and set a personal best in the 100-meter freestyle (44.64) to start the 400-meter freestyle reel.

He came in seventh in the 50-yard free (20.12 seconds) and tenth in the 100-meter free (43.66) at Winter Juniors East for the Bolles School Sharks.

His personal bests in both events (19.87 and 43.66) put him in the “Best of the Rest” group on our list of the best recruits from the class of 2025. During long course season this summer, he set new personal bests in the 100, 200, and 400-meter freestyle, as well as the 50-meter backstroke, 100-meter breaststroke, and 100-meter fly.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 free – 19.87
  • 100 free – 43.66
  • 200 free – 1:38.83
  • 100 back – 49.18
  • 100 breast – 56.23

Stanford joins the ACC on September 1. They came in second place at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships, behind Arizona State. Before Cal and Stanford joined, it took 19.68/43.31/1:35.85 to get second place in the sprint freestyle events at the 2024 ACC Championships.

Stanford had seven sprinters who went under 20 seconds last year. Their names are Andrei Minakov, Jonathan Tan, Rafael Gu, Avery Voss, Ethan Harrington, Andres Dupont, and Luke Maurer. People like Tan, Gu, Harrington, and Dupont should still be in Palo Alto next fall when Kravchenko comes to visit.
