In the U.S., only one group of people who get Social Security Disability Insurance will get their monthly payment this week. But when exactly is this payday?
The next payment from Social Security under SSDI is set for August 28, 2024. So, people born after April 30, 1997, are the only ones who qualified if they don’t get SSI and got benefits after that date.
Not eligible for SSDI on August 28?
On August 28, some people may not get their Social Security Disability Insurance check. They did get their money, though, on August 2, 14, or 21. So, they won’t get their new direct payment or check until September.
- SSDI payment on September 3: received disability benefits before May 1997 or is also on SSI
- Disability Insurance payment on September 11: birthday from 1-10
- Disability Insurance payment on September 18: you were born after the 10th but before the 21st
- Disability Insurance payment on September 25: birth date from 21-31
Remember that the only way you can get SSDI is if you have a qualified disability and have worked for a certain amount of years. Tell SSA about any changes in your health that could affect your eligibility so they don’t overpay you.
