From Undocumented to Unstoppable: Cecilia’s Journey to Legal Status

A New Chance for Cecilia

According to ABC News, Cecilia was a little girl when she came to the United States with her family from Mexico. But she didn’t have the right papers to stay here. She was set on becoming a chemist but couldn’t find work or go to school. She had to wait for a chance to fix her work.

Celia got an email from the government on Monday. She had applied for a special program that helps spouses of U.S. citizens who are not  U.S. citizens get legal status. The name of the program, “Keeping Families Together,” was given by President Joe Biden. It was great news for Cecilia that her application was accepted!
