However, the good news is that Midland and Odessa, both located in West Texas, did not make the top 10. Instead, they fell in the top 20. As residents of the area, it’s natural to want to know where our cities rank on the list.

The tenth most dangerous city on the list is Waco, Texas, which has 140,911 people and a serious crime rate of 3.94 per 1000 people. Mesquite, which is near Dallas, is placed ninth. It has 147,226 people living in it, and the violent crime rate is 3.99 per 1000 people. With 145,954 people and a violent crime rate of 4.66 per 1000 people, Pasadena, a suburb of Houston, is placed eighth.

 

The Top Cities in Texas: Where Do They Rank on the List?

There are 1,286,121 people living in Dallas, which is number 7 on the list. The serious crime rate there is 5.32 per 1000 people. With 1,465,608 people and a violent crime rate of 5.42 per 1000 people, San Antonio is placed fifth. With 317,694 people and a violent crime rate of 6.40 per 1000 people, Corpus Christi is placed fourth.

A Look at Midland and Odessa: Where Do They Rank on the List?

What about Odessa and Midland, though? Midland is ranked 16th on the list by the FBI. It has a population of 129,945 people and a serious crime rate of 3.38 per 1000 people. With 110,163 people and a violent crime rate of 3.17 per 1000 people, Odessa is placed 19th. Even though these rates are bad, they are still lower than in a lot of other Texas cities.

In general, people who live in Midland and Odessa need to do things to keep their neighborhoods safe. People can lower their chances of becoming victims of violent crime by being aware of their surroundings and taking steps to keep crime from happening.
