The US Sun says that Communities in Evanston, Illinois will get $500 a month for a year through a new program called Project 8092. There are no rules on how to spend the money. The money from this program can be used for anything by the family, which makes it unique. Project 8092 will help 150 families with children who live in an area that is known for having money problems in its second round.

 

People who live in this small part of Evanston and have kids smaller than third grade must be eligible. Also, their income must be at or below 184% of the Federal poverty line. For eight people, that means they make between $97,532 and $37,814 a year. By giving direct cash help to families who need it, this program’s goal is to help fight child poverty.
