In August, you can still get a check or direct payment from Social Security or, if you get SSI, the Federal government. If you were born between August 11 and August 20, you will still get SSDI payments on August 21.
This is not the last SSDI check in August, though. Also, people who get Supplemental Security Income will get a check after they get one on August 1, 2024. But it will be the September cash.
SSDI and SSI eligibility for late August
On August 30, 2024, people who get SSI will get a new direct payment. This is the only payday that all qualified recipients will be able to get in September. SSDI, on the other hand, has 4 different pay dates every month.
Anyone who gets SSI has until August 30 to let the Administration know about any changes that might affect their ability to get their September check. If you don’t do this, you might get underpaid or overpaid.
On August 28, people who get SSDI can get a check or direct payment if they:
- do no receive SSI payments
- did not collect Social Security Disability Insurance before May 1997
- have their birthdays from 21-31 of any month
- filing and approval is required for all SSA payments
Can SSDI or SSI receive $1,537 or $697 in late August?
Your disability payment will be based on a lot of different things. For instance, if you were a worker who made a lot of money, you could get up to $3,822. As long as you worked in SSA-covered jobs for 35 years and paid your taxes when SSA told you to, you can get the tax break.
The average amount of money you get from SSDI is $1,537. The average payment for everyone who gets Supplemental Security Income is $697. But the highest amounts will be a lot more.
A married couple who is qualified for SSI can get up to $1,415 a month, which is still less than the average SSDI payment. In the United States, people who get SSI can get up to $943 from this Federal aid. People who are needed can get up to $472.
