Around 12:12 p.m. on August 6, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 2091 Snead Road in Stoneville, N.C., for a report of an attack.
When the deputies got there, they saw 36-year-old Christina Nicole Hardy at a neighbor’s house. She was clearly bleeding from what looked like many stab wounds on her body.
Hardy was taken to a nearby hospital to get care for her injuries. At the time of this release, she was said to be in “stable” condition. Her boyfriend, Joshua Blayne Darnell, 36, also of 2091 Snead Road, Stoneville, N.C., is thought to have stabbed her about 20 times.
Investigators from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office talked to the office of Rockingham County District Attorney Katy Gregg and then charged and arrested Joshua Blayne Darnell for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Inflicting Serious Injury, and Attempted Murder.
Joshua Darnell was put in the Rockingham County Detention Facility with a bond of $400,000.
