Rogers has been named the new executive director of human resources for Rockingham County Schools

(North Carolina, Rockingham County) – Rockingham County Schools is happy to say that Lowell Rogers has been hired as the new Executive Director of Human Resources. Rogers is a useful addition to the Rockingham County Schools team because he has worked hard and learned a lot in North Carolina’s public school system for almost twenty years.

 

Rogers’ first job as a teacher was in the fifth grade. He worked in Asheboro City Schools, Rockingham County Schools (Monroeton Elementary), and Caldwell County Schools, where he was named District Teacher of the Year. He kept going on his journey as he became a school administrator and worked as an assistant principal and then principal in Caldwell County.

 

He really cared about student success, high-quality education, and getting involved in the community in these jobs. Rogers most recently worked as Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools, Davidson County Schools, and the Alamance-Burlington School System. In these roles, he learned how to manage and help school workers.

 

From Gardner-Webb University, Rogers has an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) Degree in Educational Leadership. From Appalachian State University, he has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in School Administration.

 

He also went to Rockingham Community College and got an Associate Degree. His wide range of school background and wide range of work experience will be very helpful in improving the human resources functions in Rockingham County Schools.

 

Along with their two young children, Rogers and his wife Ashlee can’t wait to move back to Rockingham County, where his wife is happy to have graduated from Rockingham County High School. Rogers said, “Our family is excited to come back to Rockingham County and add to the lively and helpful atmosphere here.”

 

Rogers will be in charge of all human resources tasks in his new job, such as hiring, training, and making sure rules are followed. His goals for the job include making the workplace a good place to be and supporting the district’s goal of giving all of its kids a good education.
