The Christmas murder-suicide husband and wife in Des Moines have been recognized by authorities.
In a news release, Des Moines police spokesperson Sgt. Paul Parizek said Salvador Carreon, 60, shot and killed his wife, Leanne, 53, before committing himself.
Wednesday’s shootings occurred at a 2900-block E. 40th Court residence around 4:13 p.m. Salvador was dead and Leanne critically ill when authorities arrived. She died in hospital.
Police are probing the city’s 17th homicide of the year.
