A drone show scheduled for the Southern Times Square New Year’s Eve event at The Market Common has been canceled due to “unforeseen safety restrictions,” organizers announced on Friday.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we truly appreciate your understanding and support,” organizers stated in a news statement.
The remainder of the usual ceremony to usher in 2025 will proceed as planned. There will be a jumbotron, a mirror-ball drop at midnight, live music and entertainment, food and drink sellers, children’s activities, and a surprise guest appearance.
The event begins at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and tickets are required for all attendees except children under the age of two. To obtain a ticket, you must present an original receipt from any of the Market Common shopping area companies mentioned here indicating a purchase of $25 or more in a single visit between now and December 31. Each $25 increment per valid receipt will result in one ticket being distributed.
Tickets will be issued between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at The Market Common Management Office, 4017 Deville St.
