A Richmond County man faces misdemeanour charges for allegedly firing at a vehicle.
According to warrants, 52-year-old Brian Keith Gerald shot out the tires of a 2012 Honda Accord on Friday, Dec. 13, and then strolled down the road with a shotgun and a 9mm handgun.
Gerald was arrested and charged with causing personal property damage and inciting public fear.
According to records, Gerald was also detained on a warrant dated November 8 for allegedly driving a 2001 Dodge Ram without the owner’s authorisation. He is accused with unauthorised use of a motor vehicle.
Gerald was booked into the Richmond County Jail and is being held on a $25,000 secured bond. He is set to appear in court on January 2, 2025.
Gerald was convicted of hiring with the intent to deceive in 2003, according to records from the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections. Two years later, he was convicted of getting an advance through a signed agreement.
Gerald was found guilty in 2009 of assault on a female, shooting a firearm into an occupied property, and property damage.
All defendants who face criminal charges are deemed innocent until proven guilty in court.
