James Kennedy, a Vanderpump Rules personality, was arrested Tuesday night in Burbank, California, on misdemeanour counts of domestic assault.
The 32-year-old British DJ, real name James Kennedy Georgiou, was arrested after cops came to a home after receiving a call reporting that Kennedy had gotten into a fight with a woman, authorities confirmed to The Independent.
“On December 10, 2024, at around 11:30 p.m., Burbank Police were summoned to a residence for a dispute between a man and a woman. “The investigation determined that it was a domestic incident, which led to Mr. Georgiou’s arrest,” a police official stated.
“Mr. Georgiou was charged with misdemeanour domestic violence and later posted bail. Formal charges are being reviewed by the Burbank City Attorney’s office.
According to Variety, Kennedy paid bail of $20,000.
His arrest occurred on the same night that he and his girlfriend, influencer Ally Lewber, attended a party hosted at Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kathy Hilton’s home, according to the publication.
The television personality is most known for bringing his charisma and unpredictability to the famous Bravo show. Kennedy made his debut as a guest star in the show’s second season before becoming a recurrent cast member in season three and a series regular from season four onwards.
He began his on-camera career as a busboy at Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood SUR Restaurant and Lounge.
Vanderpump Rules has subsequently undergone a casting shake-up with the announcement last month that the show would return for a 12th season with an entirely new cast.
“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears, and everything in between,” Vanderpump stated. “I can’t thank you enough for sharing your lives. I adore you all very much. In the restaurant industry, one shift gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules!”
After hearing the news, Lewber told Bravo that Kennedy was “grieving and just feeling emotions.”
“I wasn’t there so I didn’t get to see him, but I would call and check in and he’d be like, ‘I’m fine,'” she told me. “He was just going to the gym and doing his thing, but I could sense he was feeling depressed. But I believe he was reflecting.
“It was just an unbelievable period in his life. I believe he is proud — I know he is — of where he is now in comparison to when he first started the show,” Lewber remarked. “So, I believe it’s simply thankfulness and looking back and saying, ‘Holy s***. We just accomplished it. “And now we can move on.”
