SSDI checks worth $1,580 – Who can receive them?
If you started collecting disability benefits before May 1997, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will pay you an average of $1,580 on January 3. They are valued $1,542 on average in December 2024.
However, this isn’t the only way to get these monthly payments. Supplemental Security Income recipients can receive a check on January 3 if they also receive Social Security benefits.
Keep in mind that those who do not qualify for SSDI on January 3 must meet the birth date criterion to be eligible for one of the other three payments.

SSDI payments after January 3
Social Security Disability Insurance payments are due on January 11 for beneficiaries with birthdays ranging from 1 to 10, regardless of month of birth. The third Wednesday paycheck will be given on January 18. However, it will only be distributed to individuals whose birth dates range from 11 to 20.
Some SSDI claimants will get their monthly payment on January 25. This will be the payment date for people who were born between 21 and 31, regardless of the month. Some disability compensation will be above average.
This is feasible when a worker has paid SSA taxes for over 35 years and earns a high salary. By 2025, the highest SSDI benefit might reach $4,018.
