Mausser was subsequently detained and charged with burglary, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and public urination, according to authorities.
“Good morning, Trantwood Elementary families,
We want to make you aware that the school delayed opening this morning as the Virginia Beach Police Department and Office of Security and Emergency Management investigated a report of suspicious people inside the school.
Buses were held in the parking lot until the situation was resolved. We swiftly got the “all clear” from law enforcement and students were allowed in the building.
Instruction is continuing as normal. Parents and students may see additional police patrols around the neighborhood today.
Thank you for your continued support of Trantwood Elementary School.
