The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a 10-month investigation into the distribution of crystal methamphetamine in and around Iredell County, and seven people are now facing narcotics conspiracy charges.
ICSO narcotics investigators collaborated with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, the Davie County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the Winston-Salem Police Department throughout the investigation.
According to Sheriff Darren Campbell, ICSO investigators got vital information in this case from recent drug charges in Iredell, Alexander, and Davie counties, as well as Winston-Salem.
Investigators also used material obtained from social media platforms, cellular phone records, and Detention Centre calls. During the course of this investigation, nearly two pounds of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $40,000 were seized.
The following individuals have been charged with criminal conspiracy to possess with the purpose to sell or supply crystal methamphetamine:
Emily Ann Millsaps, 30, of Sandra Drive, Statesville
Bond: $100,000
Criminal History: Misdemeanour Aid and Abet Larceny, three counts of driving while licence revoked, misdemeanour possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, felony conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, two counts of misdemeanour possession of stolen goods, misdemeanour larceny, and multiple traffic violations.
Codey James Matheson, 32, of Emerald Field Drive, Hiddenite
Bond: $75,000
Criminal History: Two counts of misdemeanour larceny, three counts of misdemeanour consuming alcohol under the age of 21, misdemeanour possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while impaired. Felony assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, Misdemeanour disorderly conduct in a public building, Misdemeanour possession of marijuana, Misdemeanour unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, Five counts of driving when licence revoked, Two counts of Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, two counts of Misdemeanour Assault with a Deadly Weapon, two counts of Misdemeanour Possession of Stolen Goods, Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, misdemeanour Assault on a Government Official/Employee, Felony Sell or Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Felony Flee to Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, and multiple traffic violations.
Matteson is a verified Folk Nation gang member.
Joel Ray Starbuck Jr., 37, of Molly B Lane, Statesville
Note: Currently incarcerated in the N.C. Department of Adult Corrections, awaiting warrant service on this charge.
Criminal History: Three counts of misdemeanour assault on a government official, felony burning of personal property, four counts of driving while impaired, two counts of driving while license revoked, felony habitual impaired driving, misdemeanour disorderly conduct, felony hit and run, and numerous traffic violations.
Peyton Rose Schwantes, 28, Taylorsville Highway, Statesville
Note: Currently incarcerated at the Alexander County Detention Center for Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle or Dwelling for a Controlled Substance, Felony Trafficking Methamphetamine, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Bond: $75,000 on the conspiracy charge.
Criminal History: Misdemeanour Larceny, Driving while Impaired, Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Two Counts of Driving While License Revoked, Felony Prejury, Felony Interfere with Jail/Prison Fire System, and Misdemeanour Possession of Stolen Goods.
Summer Dawn Scott, 35, Dellinger Drive, Statesville
Note: Currently incarcerated at the Iredell County Detention Center.
Bond: $20,0000 unsecured bond on conspiracy charge.
