Requirements for the new SSI payment on December 31, 2024

The next SSI payment will only go to people who have already applied and been approved by Social Security. Because of all the rules, you must not have enough money. In other words, you must have little to no money and none at all.

Also, the December 31 payment can only be sent by the Social Security Administration to SSI recipients who are blind, have a disability, or are at least 65 years old. Keep in mind that some kids with a certain kind of disability may also be eligible.

Will all SSI recipients get a payment on December 31, 2024?

In fact, this is the only time that people in the United States who get SSI will get paid. Social Security payments, on the other hand, are given out 4 times a year, depending on when you started getting them or when you were born.

This means that you won’t be able to get the Supplemental Security Income payment if you are no longer eligible because:

  • received a lot of money from income
  • have gained resources that exceed the SSI limits
  • overcome your disability
