The Social Security Administration (SSA) will be closed on one of the most important federal holidays coming up soon in the United States. If you are new to the U.S., you might not know when the SSA offices are closed.

Thanksgiving is the next day that Social Security offices will not be open. In other words, if you need to go to a Social Security office, don’t go on November 28… it will be closed. The Agency will be closed for the second day in a row in November. For your information, November 11 was Veteran’s Day.

There will be another day when stores are closed after Thanksgiving. Of course, Social Security offices will be closed on December 25 as well. This is because it’s Christmas Day in the United States.

Social Security closing days in 2025
There will be an end date from the very first day of 2025. In 2025, SSA will be closed for the first time on New Year’s Day. The SSA will also be closed on Monday, January 20. The birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. is January 20, 2025.
