A woman in North Carolina died after ignoring blocked road signs, avoiding concrete barricades, and driving off an embankment.
Around 8 p.m. on Saturday, emergency services received a call reporting that a car had been driven off the road and down an embankment in Lake Junaluska.
Firefighters responded to aid with a rescue operation, according to a department Facebook post. They used a rope to repel down the hill and discovered a vehicle on its side, with a woman inside.
She was rescued and taken to a local hospital, where she died of her injuries the next day, according to WYFF 4.
