These facts are especially interesting for women who already have kids or who are expecting. People all over the United States know about SNAP benefits. You might not see WIC very often.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) used to be known as Food Stamps. WIC, on the other hand, stands for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. In fact, if you meet all the standards, you can apply for both benefits in November or December.
SNAP requirements to apply in 2024
Before you do anything else, you should know that you can only apply for SNAP in the state where you live now. That’s the first thing you need to remember.
You can also only have a certain number of materials. In other words, the cash on hand, the money in your bank account, and any other resources that can be counted.
Along with living in the country and having certain resources, there are also income boundaries. People who receive benefits will also have to meet work standards unless they are exempt. To sum up:

If you are a woman and already get SNAP benefits, this program may let you meet the standard for lowest income. To be qualified, you must usually be:
- Pregnant
- Postpartum
- Breastfeeding
- Infants
- Children up to the age of 5
If a woman and her children meet the income standards, they must also follow the state residency rule. Also, they have to be at risk of not getting enough food to get WIC funds. A health worker will decide what to do. What about your income? It must be less than or equal to 185% of the US Poverty Level.
