Law enforcement has identified the alleged driver of the Cybertruck that exploded outside of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.
According to The Gazette, sources told KOAA on Wednesday evening that the driver of the aforementioned Cybertruck involved in the explosion lived in Colorado Springs.
He is claimed to be 37 years old and named Matthew Livelsberger. According to KOAA and the Gazette, senior law enforcement sources said Matthew had many Colorado Springs addresses.
The FBI turned up at one of Matthew’s addresses. He has not yet been officially identified by police.
On Wednesday, the Tesla vehicle caught fire when it detonated outside of President-elect Donald Trump’s Vegas hotel, killing one and injuring seven. During a news event, officials from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and the Clark County Fire Department confirmed the deceased.
During the news conference, Sheriff Kevin McMahill displayed video evidence of firefighters removing the black sheet that was containing the flames.
The Sheriff noted that the Cybertruck’s design helped to reduce collateral damage as the explosion was propelled upward through the vehicle, leaving the external frame relatively unharmed.
McMahill reported that seven bystanders sustained minor injuries, some of which required hospitalization. He also commended Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his cooperation, stating, “He provided us with a lot of information about how the vehicle was locked.” And being able to record all of the video from Tesla charging stations around the country.”
A fire broke out around 8:40 a.m. at the valet area of Las Vegas’ Trump International Hotel, according to a county official. According to a law enforcement source, the Cybertruck used in the attack, which was leased via the Turo app, appeared to be laden with pyrotechnics. A Turo spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment from The Mirror.
However, Elon stated on X, formerly Twitter: “We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself.” “All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion.”
