Eligible households in the United States will receive their new Social Security checks very soon. Receiving one of these payments is only possible if certain conditions are met. In January 2025, as in every other month of the year, we will receive at least four different payments.
Each of these payments will be for a different group of retirees, and we must understand the requirements thoroughly in order to mark the calendar when we will be able to receive the funds. Each payment day has unique requirements, which is why it is critical to understand the calendar.
In these cases, the most important thing is that the Social Security payment is accepted. If we have it, we will receive the payment regardless of whether we meet the requirements, because the Administration sends a new payment to retirees every month.
As a result, we will have access to the funds, but the exact date will be determined by the group to which we belong.
When do 65-year-old retirees get Social Security?
Whether we have been retired since age 65 or are currently 65 and have been collecting Social Security for several years, the payment will still be received in full in 2025.
Furthermore, the amount we receive does not have to be $2,100, as this is a guideline. Each beneficiary receives a different check based on his or her work history.
Thus, Social Security payments will arrive in January 2025 on the following dates, depending on the requirements we meet:
- January 3rd. Payments for pre-May 1997 retirees.
- January 8th. Payments for retirees after May 1997. Birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month are also required.
- January 15th. Payments for retirees after May 1997. Also required between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- January 22nd. Payments for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Similarly, if we have started collecting the SSI check, we can expect to receive it in January, but the payment is sent earlier on December 31st.
This additional Social Security payment will arrive in the first days of January for those who do not have Direct Deposit, but having this collection method activated will result in receiving the payment immediately.
