KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Significant blizzard conditions gave way to bone-chilling cold air on Monday, but the precipitation has ended and official reports have been received.
These reports came from the National Weather Service at Pleasant Hill and Topeka. Overall, the estimate of 8-12 inches locally, with larger amounts north of I-70, proved accurate.
The majority of metro numbers fell within this range, whereas those south of I-70 had a harsher cutoff. People in northeast Kansas have some of the greatest numbers.
The majority of these snow reports were measured before the end of the day on Sunday or very early Monday. The official reading at Kansas City International Airport was 11 inches, the fourth-highest single-day snowfall total in KC history.
