An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal New Year’s Eve crash in the Upstate.
As previously reported, the Greenville County Coroners Office responded to a crash on Cooley Bridge Road near Pelzer just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a BMW sedan and a Subaru SUV collided.
All four occupants of the Subaru were pronounced deceased at the scene. According to the Highway Patrol, the driver of the BMW, 31-year-old Nicholas Shane Meeks of Belton, has been charged with four counts of deadly DUI.
Two of the fatalities have been identified: Aubrey Marie Ross, 29, of Donalds, and Amanda Lynn Leroux, 30, of North Carolina. As of the time of this article, the identities of the remaining two victims had not been published.
