An earthquake shakes New York on New Year's Day.

More earthquakes are expected to occur in early 2025.

The United States had numerous earthquakes at the end of 2024. We suffered a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Northern California at the beginning of December.

Later that month, earthquakes hit Alaska, Ohio, much of the Midwest, and the South. There were dozens of earthquakes around the United States in the last month of the year.

On New Year’s Day, an earthquake jolted areas of New York.

Earlier this year, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook New York and New Jersey.

On New Year’s Day, a mild earthquake struck sections of New York, however this one was more in upstate.

On Wednesday morning, a mild earthquake struck Northern New York. However, it was large enough to be felt by many individuals in the vicinity.

Hopefully there was no major damage or injuries.
