Three lottery players win big over a lucky weekend in North Carolina. Where were the tickets sold

Three lottery players won big money during a fortuitous weekend in North Carolina.

The N.C. Education Lottery announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that each of the participants will become richer after purchasing a lottery ticket worth more than $100,000. Where did the winning tickets come from:

  • $110,000 Carolina Cash 5 game ticket sold at a Circle K in Charlotte
  • $160,691 Carolina Cash 5 game ticket sold at Yemen Food Mart in Rocky Mount
  • $150,000 Big Crush Multiplier game ticket sold online to a player in Clayton

The $110,000 Cash 5 winner won the jackpot in the game’s December 8 drawing, two days after another winner won an even larger sum. To win, a player’s ticket must match all of the numbers drawn in the drawing, according to the rules. Here are the winning numbers from this weekend:

  • Dec. 8 drawing: 2-4-9-12-32
  • Dec. 6 drawing: 7-10-22-38-42

Big Crush Multiplier, another jackpot game, can only be played online. On December 6, the game’s winner matched enough digital symbols to win the grand prize.

According to an email from a lottery spokesman to McClatchy News on December 9, the Big Crush Multiplier winner was in the process of cashing out their prize. Though the Cash 5 awards have yet to be claimed, winners have approximately six months to do so.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without causing harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that may destroy lives and families.
