There are numerous reasons why police may pull someone over for a traffic stop. However, it is not usually the result of dangerous driving practices. Instead, it could be based on suspicion of a crime.
This occurred recently in Arkansas after three people robbed a Game Stop. Unfortunately, the driver ended up leading the police officers on a perilous pursuit.
It’s never a good idea to avoid a traffic stop
According to KAIT8 News, Arkansas police were notified of a heist at a Game Stop on December 21 involving suspects who had already drove away. Fortunately, a trooper saw the vehicle, a Nissan Maxima, and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver refused to stop, resulting in a high-speed police chase. Unfortunately, at times throughout the chase, the driver’s speed exceeded 100 mph in residential areas.
The police officers on the scene continued to attempt to bring the traffic to a stop. The report states: “Troopers executed a tactical vehicle intervention at the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to stop the suspect vehicle.”
This worked, and the cops discovered there were three persons inside the automobile. There was the driver, Dennis Davis, 27, Davion Lawson, 30, and Bobby Logwood, 33.
Following the traffic stop, all three guys face serious accusations. The motorist is charged with theft of property, careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, evading, and various traffic penalties.
The two passengers are accused with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. In total, the cops discovered almost $2,600 in stolen products. Luckily, no one was injured during the chase.
