Donald Trump was officially elected as the next president of the United States last month, and one foreign leader appears to be preparing for his presidency in an unusual way.
Donald Trump has long been renowned for his love of golf. Trump owns multiple golf courses across the world and spends a substantial amount of his free time golfing.
So, when Trump was elected president last month, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol issued a very clear warning to him ahead of their first meeting.
Yoon Suk Yeol made it plain that he intended to meet Trump on the golf course, stating that he “got out his golf clubs for the first time in eight years and resumed his golf practice” when Trump was elected, according to NBC News.
Yoon stated that he spent roughly 10 minutes on the phone with Trump following his election victory, and that they “agreed that we should meet in person soon.”
Yoon appears to expect the meeting to take place on a golf course.
Yoon’s expectation is understandable given Trump’s history of golfing with foreign leaders and possible business partners.
Trump golfed for 307 days over his first four years in office.
Clearly, he has established a reputation among foreign leaders, and they understand that their face-to-face encounters will have to take place on the golf course.
We’ll see how quickly Trump and Yoon meet.
