COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo :- On December 25, 2024, shortly after 4 a.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call reporting a shooting in the 1600 block of Rushmore Dr.
Officers claim when they arrived, the subject had fled the scene. They discovered the shooting victim in an upper bedroom.
According to CSPD, the victim needed a tourniquet placed on their right arm owing to the amount of blood.
The culprit, Ulises Jaquez-Hernandez, later returned and was apprehended.
According to CSPD, the incident began with an altercation between the 22-year-old suspect and his father. According to the department, when they returned home, the father and mother entered their bedroom and closed the door. According to CSPD, the suspect took a pistol and fired one round through the bedroom door, wounding the mother in the right arm.
According to the agency, the mother has been transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
The CSPD confirmed to KRDO13 that the shooting is under investigation.
