Prayers are pouring in for Patrick Mahomes' family on Sunday

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are off this weekend after playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, but the three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback’s family is asking for prayers.

Mahomes and his family are facing a difficult time. Randi, Mahomes’ mother, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, earlier this week to ask for prayers for her father, Patrick’s grandfather. The future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback’s grandfather is in poor health.

Randy Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s grandfather, has been hospitalized due to an illness. He is not doing so well.

“Prayer warriors, please pray for my dad. “He is in the hospital and not doing well… his name is Randy,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s mother wrote on social media.

NFL fans hope that everything will be fine for the Mahomes family.

“Lifting Randy in my prayers for healing, strength, and restoration! ✝️🙏🏽 One Love! ☝🏽💙,” one fan wrote.

“Prayers for you and your family 🙏🙏❤️❤️,” one fan added.

“Getting older means seeing more of your loved ones die off, and it’s terrible. 😭,” one fan added.

“Prayers for Randy and the Lords healing blessings upon him for many more years of life and health and happiness! All things are possible for those who believe 🙏🙏,” one fan added.

This is Randi Mahomes’ second request for prayers for her father this year. Earlier this year, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s grandfather was hospitalized, prompting prayers.

“Watching a game with daddy today…” Randi Mahomes requested prayers for her father back in October.

It has been a difficult year for the Mahomes family. Randi Mahomes lost her mother, Debbie, who died in February.

However, there is also some good news. Randi Mahomes is preparing to become a grandmother of three. Brittany Mahomes is expecting the couple’s third child and is reportedly due any day now.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, meanwhile, are coming off a rout of the Steelers on Christmas Day. Kansas City improved to 15-1 this season with a 29-10 victory over Mike Tomlin’s team in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
